A Baby Naming Ceremony is a beautiful way to say “We love you, we are here for you and we will support you, no matter what.”  Although this is a Ceremony that is usually conducted when the child in question is a baby, there are no set rules, and I encourage you to consider this Ceremony for older children as well.  It is also suitable for couples who want to have an inclusive Ceremony to welcome step children and it is particularly appropriate for children who have been adopted into a family.  Again this is a very personal and special Ceremony for your child and one which can involve the whole family.  There are poems and readings, music, and candles and your input as a parent is very important in the whole process.

Original verses can be written or traditional poems used – it’s completely your choice but it’s significant for Guardians, Parents and Grandparents to read these.  Birthday flowers can be incorporated as can Birth Stones.  Certificates are presented to those involved on the day and the Original Ceremony is given to you, the parents, to keep and treasure along with a special memento for your child.

As I said, there are no set rules when it comes to Naming Ceremonies and whether it’s for a baby, a child or an adult, each Ceremony will be individually created for your needs.
